High Pitch ring when moving computer sometimes. Soundcard.

I assume it is the soundcard, since it goes away when I mute the system.

When not docked I occasionally get this loud high pitched ring, usually when tilting the laptop, but sometimes it continues when still. Rebooting sometimes solves the problems, while other times it doesn't. Muting always stops it.

Another thing, when I'm docked and connected to my speakers and type on the keyboard my keyboard strokes are played out on the speakers. Similarly if I tap the palm rest it will play that noise on the speakers as well.

This is a 4month old T60p. Anybody have similar problems? I assume something is wrong with the sound card.

off topic: I also have problems with my dvd/cdrw drive, it wasn't recognizing blank media to burn and so I uninstalled the drivers but can't seem to find them to reinstall. Could somebody point me to the drivers for the DVD/cd-rw?

I had something similar to this going on, and I opened the windows volume control and found the microphone enabled. The high-pitched sound was feedback, is my guess. Muting the microphone itself except when using a microphone (eg for Skype), took care of the problem.

Sorry I can't help you with the clicking. My suggestion is....go open-source :D
