did I get the wrong video card?

I got my t60p about 3 weeks ago, and while it is nice, I'm having a hell of a time with the ATI card in it.
When switching between programs, it can give the icons on the desktop siezures, and with some games I have tried, the video card completely crashes and I have to power down and restart.

Is this because I'm using the card with XP Professional and not Vista?

I can't imagine why you would be experiencing these problems, they are not normal. I run a T60p and a Z61p both with ATI v5200 cards and the lenovo drivers, and the system runs great under XP Professional.

I suspect that's the higher gpu temperature causing that, no matter either you're using XP or Vista.

Search around; there are a number of threads with useful info on this topic. What games are crashing your system? I've had similar problems, but have found many of them to be due to compatibility rather than overheating.
