Changing screen resolution

Searched for this, but can't find an answer... but I think it'll be here somewhere.
Just got a T60 with Radeon X1300. I use this regularly with external screens 1280x1024, and also use the laptop screen a lot at 1400x1050.
With my old T42 I used to have an ATI icon in the systray that I could click to change resolution easily - certainly much faster than going through control panel, or right clicking the desktop. But can't find a similar way to do this on my T60. Presentation Director will do this, but seems clunky by comparison.
Can anyone suggest how I get back the old T42 functionality?
thanks

You might need to install ATI video drivers instead of the Lenovo provided ones, to have the ATI tray tool icon show.

tried to download drivers from ATI site - when run the package says it's for the wrong hardware or something..... am I doing something daft? It's not like I've not done this dozen of times before on other machines...

Does anyone else here actually have a way of changing res without either using the clunky control panel or Presentation director?
Thanks

You can try this site.

http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/

I've never used it before but from what I hear it seems to work well. I believe there is a XP and a Vista version.

I use Lenovo provided drivers for my Firegl card.
If you go to advanced display properties, then Options tab you will probably see settings regarding ATI icon in the tray.
I have install ATI tray icon option there.

Hi CZOLG - had no problem with my T42 - can't seem to find anything that the T60 (Radeon X1300) will run that gives the tray icon.

Do you have a directory such as C:\IBMTOOLS\drivers\VIDEO ? There may be a similar named directory under Lenovo. It is there where the original installation program for the ATI video drivers are installed (including Control Panel) on the T42. You also might try a search on your hard drive for CPANEL.

GomJabbar - what a STAR! Thanks. \drivers\win\video\cpanel.

Run it and hey presto - there it is. Just one remaining problem. If I dock at 1400x1050, I can't see the systray on my 1280x1024 screen.... it's off the bottom. My T42 used to pan the screen if the desktop was sized bigger than it... but this T60 doesn't seem to do that. Any ideas how it can be made to do so?

But thanks again!
