Good pricing on T60p widescreens?

I just got this in the mail from Lenovo....IBM shareholders supposedly are getting a special deal on Thinkpads, which is well below normal list price.

I configured a T60p with 15.4" WSXGA+, the same thing on the web site (supposed to be PN 8744J2U), which has a sale right now, and the price is even a couple hundred dollars below that.

Anything particularly wrong with this model that it is on special? Is that a good price? (I won't say the exact price, since it is _supposedly_ the employee price ... I guess there's a rule here about divulging that..?)

Is this a good screen?
I've a T40p right now with the 14" 1400x1050, which is almost perfect. I'm worried about the extra size/weight on a 15" WS, but if it's really good, I'd be willing to compromise.

I have the 8744J2U and for all intents and purposes, it's the most perfect laptop I have owned so far. I love this machine - nothing wrong with it at all. If you're wondering about the price point, the T61s will be replacing it, so it looks like Lenovo is moving out their last line of T60/T60ps with the promotion.

In terms of the price, I believe it's the site policy not to list numbers, but going off of what you said, that's a great price. I also got mine at a price lower than the current site w/sale (due to corporate discount).

just got an 8744-J2U a couple of days ago, and the only thing I can find wrong with it is that it doesn't do dishes. Actually, it might, but the dish water tends to make the LCD and infrared port blurry with the obvious results of the machine not knowing when the dishes are actually clean.

I've had this laptop for a month or so now, and it's a great laptop, but I really might consider waiting to see if there's a 14" WS T61. This thing really is kinda a slab. It's not bad by any means, and I'm very pleased with it overall, but I do think I would prefer a smaller one if such a beast existed.

That said, I think I probably got similar pricing as what you're looking at, and the price was pretty much unbeatable. I don't think you'll be able to do better than that on a T61 for some months to come.
