Fan gets "stuck" on

Sometimes my fan seems to be "stuck" at a high speed (3500 rpm) even though the temp is reasonably low, and the only way to slow it down seems to be to change the power scheme, even if you change it to the same one that its already set at. Anyone else notice this? Explanation? Bug?

I can confirm that changing power scheme, to the same as currently used, keeps the fan quiet for a while. T60 2007-FUG.

Experiencing the same thing on Z series. Somehow computer "forgets" to use defined power scheme so I have to "remind" him by clicking on power scheme in the Thinkvantage panel.
Anybody has an idea how to solve this problem?

It's been long time since original post, I know:)
