How to extract files from recovery partition?

Is there a way to extract WinXP CD's or DVD's from the recovery partition? I've been searching the forums but haven't found the answer. Rather than leave recovery files on the drive, I'd like to extract them to CD or DVD and then have use of that space. Plus I may wish to do some sort of reinstall. Anyway, could someone please be kind enough to point me to the article, if there is one? Thank you.

I think for a T60 you go into the Start -> Programs -> something to do with Lenovo and then pick out Make a set of recovery CD's. Something along that line. It started with a T42 and mine was earlier, so I just got the CD's from IBM. But times change, and now it is a do-it-yourself routine. If you find the menu and make the CD's, test them (even if you have to buy a cheap drive) because the do-it-yourself routine has been known to fail (after it is too late to do anything about it.) ... Go to Programs>ThinkVantage>Create Rescue Media. You'll know what to do from the options in there. Also you should also look into "Rescue and Recovery".

Yup you're right. It's right there. Silly me, I read the help text, I booted into the recovery partition, etc. But it is there, and I made the set of 7 CD's.
Presumably, I can use these to load the factory installation onto a new drive, yes?
Thank you for your help.
