Certainly not normal. Vista likes to shuffle hdd files for a while, the fan could just be on to cool down that process. But still "all the time" does not sound normal at all.

If had no issue under XP then I'll say give it sometime.

you could donwload NHC and see what your temps are.

I think it works in Vista, someone correct me if I'm wrong, Vista's been running perfectly normal so have not had to check anything temp wise.

Did you update the bios after the install or before?

Do not install nhc since it's still not compatible with vista and causes blue screens. The developer is working on the issues and will release a new version but no one does know when.

Did you install the IBM PM Driver as well as Power Manager. And secondly you might try to enable powerplay with the ATI card since that is the part which causes enormous heat from all other components.

The question is if the fan never gets under 2900 rpm since on most T60 the fan is running all the time.

In the Catalyst Control Center, there should be a category at the bottom for powerplay.

I am unable to follow your post. However the temperature seems normal.

I don't have a T60, but I can attest to the fact that the temps are much higher in Vista. I have my fan on all the time because of it. I'd rather hear the system cooling than have it frying at 60C idle.
