i was charging from 30%. The bottom of the computer is hot but nothing i thought was fire prone. The power supply on the other hand is extreamly hot. I have a nine cell battery and the 65w adaptor. Anyone else notice this?

Make sure you're using the right adapter for your notebook's power consumption. Some require 90W others 65W power like yours. Check the manual to confirm this thing.

By the way what's the make of your 9 cell battery?

The T60 power supply is 90w. I have seen the 65w power supplies which I think are for the X60 series.

I don't think it is dangerous but you sure will take longer to fully charge.

The 65 and 90watt supply can be used with all 60 series regardless of whether they are t,r,x, or z. It is supported by Lenovo.

The 65 watt will run hotter while charging and having the THinkPad in use but not pose a danger.

The two different wattage supplies (65W and 90W) are for systems with different video systems. According to the tabook.pdf file, type # 1951s use the GMA (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator) graphics controller (and thus the 65W supplies can be used) and the type 2007s have the ATI Radeon X1300 or X1400 graphics controller and require the 90W supplies. You can use the 90W supply on the 1951 systems but I would not recommend using the 65W supply on the 2007 systems.

you can use the 65W adapter, I've tried(my sister has a x60s) but I would recommed that you turn off you T60 while charging.

turning off the computer is what i will have to do. I usually charge it at night but ran out. Thanks for the input.
