Black screen when opening

#1 Post by tabasco » Fri May 04, 2007 8:04 am

When using my T60WS bought with VISTA, if I close the laptop for a short while (30 minutes) then reopen it, the screen does not come back up. The "sleep" indicator is not lit, I didn't press any buttons before closing it -- I just closed the top. The documentation says that pressing Fn+F7 three times within 3 seconds will bring the screen up, but it didn't. I had to reboot to get a screen. This seems odd.

Any ideas?

You may have this problem:

The hotfix is available here:

I checked the link but it is for a computer running XP. I'm running Vista.

I have a similar thing with my T42 running XP - if I turn the PC on, then close the lid, the screen stays off. Putting it into standby (Fn+F4) and waking it up again solves it every time.
