My 14 inch T60 running WinXPwill occasionally have some issues where opening the lid will not turn on the backlight. This is usually resolved by closing and then reopening the lit, but is there a way to stop it from happening? Also, I was using it in the car yesterday (passenger on a 5 hour trip) and after opening the lid, the backlight came on, but the screen would not refresh. I could see everything a I had left it (I think as it was when the lid was closed, judging by the small number of WAPs it listed as found (22 compared to 120 that another device in the car found. I didn't think to check the clock. Anyway, although I could see everything, I could not do anything, the mouse would not move, pressing Fn-F4 would not standby the laptop... nothing. This happened again today, and the only similarity I can think of was that I might have plugged in the power while the lid was closed on both occasions. Also, on the trip I had numerous porgrams (namely DeLorme) crash, and got a bluescreen. Might this have something to do with the harddrive going into suspend a lot due to shocks?
Any suggesions? Thanks
