I have an unknown device in my device manager after installing Windows 2003 last night on my T60, it is a Core 2 Duo 1.83ghz, 1gB RAM, X1300 64MB, 80gB drive.
I've installed drivers for the following:
Graphics Card
Network (Wireless + Wired)
Bluetooth
Fingerprint Reader
Chipset Drivers
Sound card Drivers
I've disabled the modem, serial port in the BIOS...
Does anyone have any idea what this device could be? The ThinkVantage System Update utility is not running properly...
Thanks!

InfraRed ?
BTW I suppose Windows 2003 are noticeably faster than XP, right ?

I prefer it as an OS on all my systems due to the fact I don't need the eye candy or extra gimmicks of XP, but I do like the kernel, and 2003 is an even more mature kernel than that of XP's. It runs faster and smoother in my experience, but the difference isn't HUGE as far as I can tell
InfraRED is disabled in BIOS I think... yep it is.

Is there anything in device mgr other than "unknown" what does it fall under. Maybe the WWAN if you have it. Express card slot?

Nope, just unknown device. No WWAN here, perhaps its the express card slot? Wouldn't chipset drivers take care of that?
I'll investigate that avenue in a bit

Thanks!

Try and compare your device manager screen against the device manager images in a screen shot of a functional T60 from this thread. Hopefully you can spot the offending device (driver) by its physical placement.

Nice!
It was the Atmel TPM driver that was missing

Thanks very much for the help!
