Help on Rescue and Recovery! T60P:(

#1 Post by yangkuan81 » Wed May 09, 2007 5:40 pm

hi,

I am a new Thinkpad user ( only 2 days actually) and I really need some help.

After I got my T60p with vista installed, I installed xp pro myself. Everything is fine until I installed some software in vista and caused it to crash...

Now the problem is that I can't get into the Rescue and Recovery workspace. The manual says press Thinkvantage during the startup, but after I pressed it, it doesn't give me the Rescue and Recovery workspace, instead, it only says

"Interupt start menu"
"Press F1 to access bios:
"Press F12 for temporary startup device"
"Press ESc to continue normally"

I really don't know what to do now, I still can use the xp but I really want this recovery thing to work.

Anybody???

Looks like you damaged the recovery partition. Did you install Vista and XP by installation discs or by the recovery media?

If the partition is still intact, you may want to try out the boot sector repair software first.
