Who is ordering T61?

The only thing that I wish is that I could've gotten something better than the ATI X1400 graphics, but I figure I'll hopefully get more enjoyment out of the famed IPS Flexview screen than I will playing the occasional game.

What's wrong with the ATI X1400? It's comparable in performance to the Nividia on the T61, and significantly better than its x3100 intel graphics. You can play many games quite well on the T60 with x1400, including Doom at medium settings. Flexview has slower response (the price you pay for wide-angle and accurate/rich color) but it's improved since the T42 days as ghosting complaints have subsided.

However, I heard horrible things about current ATI cards and Linux; does anyone have this combination up and running on a Thinkpad?

Well i believe they were shipping linux preloaded on a couple of T60 prefconfigured models last year, and I think those either came with ATI dedicated graphics or it was a customizable option.
