Is this for real?
http://www.clarkson.edu/oit/computersto ... am2007.pdf
It lists WXGA+ for the T61, but with an ATI M54 (x1400) in it. AND a 15.4"WSXGA+ with nVidia NB8P-GL 256MB Video on the T61p which I have never heard of.

Great Find! I personally have sighted a 14" widescreen T61 at Costco 2 wks before it's release. However when I went back last week it was gone. That goes to show distribution and inside info gets sent way in advance.

Confirmed. Going into my third year at Clarkson. Gave OIT a quick call and was affirmed those are the correct specs. It's a little later than usual this year for their specs on incoming freshmens' computers to be released.

Not a huge deal, but I'm also noticing that they specify a 9 cell battery for their Comprehensive and Performance options. To my knowledge, all existing sources have only referenced up to 7 cells for the T61s. Possibly a mistake? Could the 15.4" actually support a larger battery?

I certainly hope that the "p" model is not offered only in the 15.4" size.

It says nVidia NB8P-GL 256MB Video. Anyone got opinions on performance compared to the current ATI V5250/V5200 of the T60p?

Speculation says that card is a GeForce 8600 equivalent so it should be much faster than the V5250. I was leaning towards the HPs with the ATI Radeon 2600 HD but now that I've seen this, the T61P is my ideal notebook.

according to one poster at the notebookreview forums, "lenovo will release T61p arond June,5 ( and even earlier ) and it will come with NVidia Quadro FX 570 M 256MB video card." Sounds like good news!

That looks exactly like what I want. Called my school, and they are not sure if they will be updating their offerings to possibly add that this fall or next spring.
I'm tempted to order one myself this summer without a school discount, if I have to.

An 8600 256MB Quadro equivalent would be nice, as the new X2900s are apparently terribly hot. And the good news is DirectX 10, I expect. If it's nice and cool, I'll be very happy with the offering, 256MB is non negotiable.
