disappointed
Shortly before Christmas I bought myself a brand new T60.
Three weeks ago I decided that I would send it in to Lenovo to have them look at two faults that were annoying me.
The first thing that I noticed when I bought the machine was that there are two black shadings in the bottom corners of the screen. I know this topic had already been discussed here. Anyway, Lenovo phoned me today saying there are no shadings, so I will have to put up with them.
The second fault is that my screen wobbles, or at least I think it does. Is it normal that when you lift up the laptop and let's say carry it somewhere that the screen wobbles back and forth? Is it normal that one can push the screen slightly back and forth? I seem to remember that with my T41 this was certainly not the case. The screen was completely tight. Anyway, according to Lenovo the screen does not wobble.
I sent Lenovo the laptop on the 24.04 by special delivery. One of their service providers (TNT Same Day) received it on 25.04 and was supposed to foward it to Lenovo. Well, they received it yesterday - three weeks after I sent it them.
I'm somewhat disappointed.

Sorry to hear that. Some users here have also reported the wobble problem. It seems this happens in mixed cases, some people report having excellent service. I think that is not possible to manually tighten the LCD hinges.

No, you're right, it's not possible. I would have to order new hinges, which is rather expensive, in particular because of the shipping costs to the UK (64$).xtr wrote:Sorry to hear that. It is puzzeling me, that people report a "wobbeling screen" problem:
During the breakout session for Thinkpads at Lenovo L!ve Event 2006 in Vienna,
the sales man on the stage elaborated on the huge efforts which were directed into
the proper hinge design of the new T60, just to prevent the screen from wobbling!!
Then I was a bit estranged, that he was talking about such a feature, which I take for granted.
Now I don't know if I should be sarcastic or sad about it...

I think it's scandalous. Not only is Lenovo sending me an unrepaired laptop back, it also took them over three weeks to inform me that they wouldn't repair it.lophiomys wrote:It is puzzeling me, that people report a "wobbeling screen" problem:

I am now considering ordering new hinges from the US, which will cost me a fortune.
I was really a great Thinkpad fan, but this is getting on my nerves.
