New T60p (Europe)

Hello everybody,

Last week I got my machine, T60p 2007-8JG. In brief, Intel C2D T7600, 14.1", 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD 7200rpm, ATI FireGL V5250, DVD Burner, FPR, Intel 3945 A/B/G, 9cell, Windows XP Pro, 3 year warranty.

It is ok, but I have noticed something odd:
#1 The handle of the LCD cover latch is SILVER, like the eject buton on the optical drive.
I have a friend with a T60 15.4" WSXGA+ and lots of 14.1" T60's at work, all have this handle in black color, these T60's are not T60p. This SILVER handle is "normal" for the T60p, or Lenovo has depleted black plastic reserve?;

#2 There was no sticker on the top cover in the bottom left corner. Probably this is the end of T60's and they run out of stickers too;

#3 The "d" letter of the "IBM Thinkpad" logo inside (not one on the LCD cover) is bent upwards _/ and it bothers me a bit. I guess that Lenovo people don't like the IBM labels anymore. I'm thinking of pulling it off and straighten it, anybody did this before? Am I going to ruin that logo by doing this?

To answer the first two questions of yours, you probably got a T60p which is from an early batch.

Both silver cover latch and missing sticker are normal among early batch of T60/T60p. So don't worry too much. Actually, I don't like the sticker on the top cover of later T60/T60p.

No. If you can't get it flat again, you can buy a new sticker on ebay for <$4 shipped. It is no big deal.
