Hi,
I have Thinkpad T60 2623D6U which came with 512 MB of 667 MHz . Now i would like to upgrade with another 1 GB of same type. But the product spec says that it will support only 1 GB of 667 MHz and 2 GB of 533 MHz. (In total 3 GB)
Can i go-ahead and upgrade with 1 GB 667 MHz ? Will it corrupt any hardware ? I heard that in total 1.5, only 1 GB will function in 667 MHz and the remaining .5 GB will function in 533 MHz which is ok for me unless it creates problem. Thanks in advance your valuable suggestions.

Thanks
Karthik

Here is a list of threads which might be able to help you find an answer.

Unsolved problem but similar to your question 1+1GB
Some compatibility discussions
Long discussion, must read
Brand specific
Vista with 4GB (2+2GB)
Similar with above, Vista + maximum memory
Discussion about memory timing

You should be able to upgrade to 1GB 667MHz without any problems. And I don't believe the remaining 0.5GB will run at 533MHz, they should run at the same clock frequency, otherwise they will not work. There is a better term that what I used so we need help from the memory experts to explain this better.
