3GB is all the T60 series' chip set will support. The T61 supports a full 4GB.

Really?

Could You be so kind and provide me with some documentation about it, I meat that I did buy _few_ of these..

And if I cannot get full 4GB memory to use, I do not have use for those...

There's a bazillion posts on this very forum about it. Perhaps you could try a search?

Intel's new Santa Rosa chipset addresses this issue.

Windows XP can only handle 3GB's. Vista will be able to handle your 4GB's no problem. ;)

People, make it sticky or something, T60 and X60 - understand 3GB maximum, period

Whatever voodoo you can come up with - won't help

I installed 3gb in my T43p. BIOS and CPUID report 3gb but of course Windows only sees 2gb. Maybe the same type of issue with T60 and Windows.

As *brentpresley* told me, and what makes sense - BIOS reads SPD and summs it up

Now, the Chipset cannot work beyond its design capacity - T4x, X4x - 2GB tops; T60 - 3GB tops.
