Heat: How big of a problem is this?

So my long-awaited T60p is finally being delivered this Tuesday and I'm quite excited. I ordered on the last day of the Shareholder sale in April and got a great deal. I was waiting for word on the T61 and when first reports were less than encouraging, I went for the t60p.
However, I'm a little worried now after reading reports on how much cooler the T61 is, and how T60 can often run hot.
So, anyone that has a 14" T60p (with V5250), can you tell me if heat is a big problem? Does everyone experience the heat problem or is it an isolated thing?

It seems that all those I've seen so far that are complaining about the heat factor are 15" T60p's, so I'm wondering if maybe the 14" runs cooler?

Notwithstanding any reports you may have read, know that there is no problem whatsoever with heat on T60/p units, as you will discover for yourself when you receive your unit. Enjoy your new machine.

I am one of the persons here who has used T61 for a while and trust me I find T60/p a much better machine in almost every aspect as compared to it. Infact those who have an experience with pre-T61 thinkpads will find T60/p one of the most brilliant machine engineered by lenovo thus far.

There are no heat issues with T60/p at all.

I don't own a T60p, but I'd say there are some isolated cases with T60p's overheating. Check the GPU temps as early you receive the machine. I think you made the right choice, T61's right now are being bad-treated, due to its weird design, flimsy material, etc. Hopefully Lenovo would continue to build Thinkpads as they were.

Fantastic

Wow. Thanks very much for all your replies. That makes me feel much better as it was really the only thing I was apprehensive about.

I have a T60 it has over heated on me twice but I was playing a very demanding video game and the machine had been running for a long time. But the T60 is a whole heck of a lot cooler than my old T30 so I'm not complaining.

T60 is a business oriented machine, you can expect overheating if you're playing demanding games on it.

T60p here. After over a year of continuous use, no heat or fan problems at all.

14inch T60p, just ran 3dmark05 followed by 3dmark06. All default settings, nothing changed in Catalyst control panel (default Powerplay etc.) Pretty high idle temps, 64-66 degrees C (is this normal?). After 3dm05, GPU was at 80, CPU just under 60. After 3dm06, GPU 78 and CPU in the 50s. Didn't take very long to get back to normal temps. I got 3800 something in 05 and 1600 something in 06, but this was with programs running in the background - 500 out of my total 1024MB RAM was being used by other applications (mainly ibm ones).
