Replace your motherboard.

There is no known hack.

What about Service and support ??

If I send it to them, they will help me or not.

They would, as long as you prove you're the owner of the machine.

I have everything (bil, ... etc), I am the owner for the laptop. I will contact them tomorrow.

Amazingly, the rest of the world does not celebrate American holidays.

He's from Saudi Arabia.

If you set the password and forget it, they charge you for the motherboard which might run into hundreds of dollars....

If you didnot enable the passphrase then there is hope to recover it, via some external readers, there are such out for T40's not sure about T60's. But if you enable the passphrase then nothing can be done other than replacing the motherboard.

This is based on experience in the US.

Hi,

before the system asks for password, it gives me the fingerprint prompt and I can pass it by my finger but why after that asks me again for password???

I am talking about BIOS do not think that form windows login fingerprint :).

I will contact to them later. If they tell me change the motherboard, I will say BYE BYE to Lenovo and thinkpad after many years with Thinkpad sure I will miss thinkpad but what i can do :)

new motherboard that means new laptop :). I will go to MAC.

Many thanks

Sometimes it will ask the password even you already swipe the fingerprint. My experience is that that's because the machine waits a little bit long so it need double confirmation (sounds weird, doesn't it?). Next time you can try swipe your fingerprint right after it asks you to do so.

For the general knowledge - both pass and passphrase are doable

/ I suggest locking this topic, untill it becomes out of control, with step by step tutorials etc.
