The X31 screen is really bad (both quality and low resolution), apart from that it is really nice machine. I'm still trying to find better panel (like the 12" SXGA+ FFS one used in X60 tablet) for replace.

Yes, nothing can't beat the price of TN panels but I'd like to have an option to pay for decent quality.

Elaborate... I thought those were supposed to be brighter/better?

I have the regular X60 screen, and have not compared it to the Ultralight version. The screen on my X60 is roughly comparable to my (non-flexview) T60 regarding viewing angle and sharpness. It's not as nice as the flexviews i've compared to, but as you suggest those are big and heavy to lug around.

I don't have an non-ultralight x60 to compare it to (and, I may have been a bit harsh with my choice of words), but relative to my Flexview, it is no where near as bright (although I could live with that), but the viewing angle is really really bad. Colors become saturated (or fade) quite quickly when you look at it from the left or right, and even much more so from above or below. It may just be me, as I haven't had to look at a non-flexview laptop panel in quite a while (since I have been using either my desktop LCD or my t60p Flexview).

When I get a chance, I'll do a side by side with my friend's non-flexview t60 and I'll post a better comparison.

But, I guess the panel is the comprimise I have to make in order to have something that is easy to carry around...
