T60 Screen and Keyboard Order Questions

#1 Post by rebop » Mon May 28, 2007 11:53 am

Ordered a T60 last night. Could no longer wait for a 14" WSXGA T61 and battery life worried me. I like the 6 cell flush on the 60 better. Anyway...

I read about the three types of panels and three types of keyboards. Since mine is cheduled to ship 6/11, can I call and request a specific panel and keyboard? Would they accomodate that? And if so, should it be Hydis and MNB (?) or is there consensus one of the other panels and keyboards are better?

Thanks.

I'm afraid they won't accommodate that.

One more question:

I got the ATI 1400 on the 14.1 4:3 screen T60.

Is there any problem or difficulty in using a large, hir res wide screen montior for the external? I'm thinking a Dell Ultrasharp 2407 running 1920 x 1200.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Just wanted to be sure the widescren for external was not a problem with a standard 4:3 internal.

Off to Dell to order...

Ok, ordered a few days ago and it says shipped today. But, the parts numbers do not seem to relate to those listed as parts on the Lenovo site.

Anyone know what these really are?

Ok, T-60 arrived in just three days after order placment even though free UPS Ground chosen. Came Express from Kowloon. Nice touch.

Keyboard is a Chicony. MUCH beter than the Alps. I can live with this. I likely have never seen the NMB, so can not comment if that is better than this or not.

Screen is TMD, buit a new part number not previously listed anywhere for a 14.1 SXGA. No dead pixels. Seems bright. Definitely brighter than my T43.

Palmrest seems like thinner plastic than my T43 sitting beside it now. Especially noticeable right above the card slots.

7200 RPM Hard Drive is louder than the 5400 on my T43.

More later if anything of interest to report.

Question:

Seems like very little bloatware, but it also appears that the full MS Office 2007 Suite is installed.

Do they ship with a demo of this now? Or is it possible they shipped this with a full version by accident?

There are no discs included. But has Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.

Probably an accident if its really the full version. If they thought you had ordered office, they would have included the discs, as it is not reinstalled with windows. Get the activation key from your office installation for future use...
