Actice Protection & Newer Seagate Drives

The newer Seagate drives (such as the 7200.2 160GB 7200rpm) come with their own active protection. I read somewhere that it wouldn't be a good idea to have two systems running concurrently - such as the drive's own, plus the Thinkpad Active Protection system. Is this right? Since I have this drive installed, should I not have the AP installed at all? And what about my second HDD in the Ultrabay?
