Battery issue on T61.

#1 Post by jjfcpa » Wed May 30, 2007 10:05 pm

I have experienced this twice so I know I'm not imagining things.

Tonight I undocked my T61 from an advanced dock and suspended it at 5:00 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. I turned it on and the battery went from a full charge down to 36%.

This happened to me yesterday. I suspended it at 5:30 and this morning when I turned it on, it was down to 26% battery.

Evidentially, there is a huge drain going on when you suspend it.

Anyone else around to confirm this with the T61 - my model number is 766417U.

The only time I've heard of anything like this was with the first iPods - the timekeeping function would keep the processor at a very high usage and drain the battery in no time. Hopefully it's an issue that can be patched through a BIOS update, as it was with a firmware update on the iPods. I would call Lenovo and ask if they have had any other reports of this problem.
