Bluetooth Indicator Light Redux
My T60's Bluetooth indicator light/led (just to the right of the WLAN indicator on the bottom of the display bezel) no longer lights. Bluetooth works fine, but there's no obvious indicator that it's on or off.
A search turned up a number of occurrences of this particular situation, but no solutions. My guess is that this started after the 2nd on-site service visit from Qualex, IBM's incompetent hardware service subcontractor in my little corner of the Northeastern US.
I'm quite reluctant to have their guy come back and break yet something else on my laptop (the 2nd visit was to fix something he screwed up on the first visit, and the damage this time was not limited to the BT LED; he also snapped a piece of plastic off the corner of the display cover).
Has anyone uncovered a way to repair this without a service visit? I've certainly seen the keyboard, bezels, display, etc. removed enough times that I could most likely disassemble the thing and put it back together again with my eyes closed (my rocket scientist service technician had to try to reassemble the laptop twice on his first visit, and his skills hadn't improved at all for the second).
I really don't think there's anything I have to worry about warranty-wise; I've already registered my complaints about Qualex's incompetence with IBM. At this point, I just want a fully functional laptop. It's barely a month old.

Nope, haven't heard anything from anyone here, and I haven't called IBM for another service visit. I really don't want something else broken at this point.
Back to Dell for my next purchase, though. The T60 is a great machine, but if this is the quality of service I can expect from an on-site contract, I'm better off dealing with Dell.

I appreciate that, rmarshll. I trust my own hardware service abilities far more than those of the folks IBM's subcontracting to in my area.
And although opening the laptop oneself technically voids the warranty, I've seen mine disassembled enough to know that there's no way they can tell I've had it open.

The End of the Saga(?)
My Bluetooth light is again functioning. It appears to have been that the ribbon cable that runs between the motherboard and the lid/display was faulty; it had been replaced when the LCD panel was swapped out a month ago.
At the moment, my T60 is fully functional
