Just got my T61(1440x900) and 1st thing I noticed when I turned it on was some light bleed at the bottom. The light leak goes the full length at the bottomof lcd. of Not very noticable when in Vista. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks

This is typical for low-quality displays Lenovo still use

14" T4x and T60 had the same problem. The are
two vendors of T61 14" WXGA+, LG-Philips and Samsung. Do you know which one do you have ?
Even HP
can get better TN panels ...

Thanks for your feedback. So in other words should I bother trying to exchange it or will I get the same thing or worse yet one with bad pixels. Once windows boots up it's no big deal.
Thanks
Todd
I have T60P(8744J2U) that I'm selling, Nothing wrong with it. I just wanted something smaller. If any one is intererested please let me know have had for about 3 months and has balance of 3 year warranty

No, it will be the "standard" quality for next couple of years

If you had ThinkPad with FlexView IPS display before, just try to forget that something like that ever existed ...
BTW could you (or someone else) make pictures of T61 displays in various conditions ?

Well, I can't show you images of different display positions, but I can point you to some measured luminance values for a T61 with a (1440 x 900) pixel display.
See:
http://www.notebookjournal.de/storage/s ... 3c7ba2fc0f
http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/gallery/232
The average/mean measured luminance was 188 cd/m² (nits).
