Yes, it is the default 6cell battery. No, I can't tell you about battery life....yet. I am off today, so I will be testing the battery's capabilities....

You must be the only two, since everyone else is complaining that it is too long and too boring....

I'll see what I can do about uploading it else where....I might just skip all the fancy editing work, and just give you the raw video...

BTW, what video editing SW do you use.
I'm searching something for my wife to edit/cut her family videos?

Windows XP has Windows Movie Maker, and I have been using that for now. I am saving up to upgrade to Sony Vegas, since that seems to be the preferred editing software on YouTube, because of its features.

I'd like to see more as well.

You should work as a Technical Marketing Engineer for Lenovo.

I want a Thinkpad T61 NOW after viewing your clip.

Great job, I will subscribe when I get a chance.

Thanks...working for Lenovo wouldn't quite be my cup of tea...I wouldn't want to have to handle the workload that they have to deal with if something doesn't go right...furthermore, it would take away from my fascination with Thinkpads....

BTW:
Just watched a few other Thinkpad movies on YouTube.
Especially one gave a complete new meaning to your little movie.
Great work!

OK, I have had a little more time to play with the T61, as far as battery life goes...

1. With wireless on, surfing the internet, I rec'd 3.0 hours on the first attempt. I also installed some software along the way.

2. With wireless on, surfing the internet occassionally, while working on a T30, I rec'd just over 3.75 hours.

3. With wireless on, I didn't realize that I had accidentally unplugged it when I was last in the room....I came back about 4 hours later and it was still on, at about 17% remaining. I would have let it continue to see how long, but it was time to go home.

For each of these instances the battery timer was turned off. For the third, I hadn't changed the settings back, which is why it hadn't gone into hibernation mode...

I can't image how well the battery would perform with the wireless turned off. I am also going to to test it while playing DVDs.

Thanks, this is the 6-cell right? I don't really watch DVDs on my laptop, just XviD/DivX rips, so the drive doesn't have to spin up as much. Pretty encouraging figures to be honest.

Wow, sorry about the seriously delayed response, but yes, it is the 6-cell battery...
