I recently tried rolling back a video driver while troubleshooting. Unfortunately, even after the Rollback/reboot, the Device Manager shows the same 1/3/2008 video driver.
Do I need to get the older version(s) and install manually? If so, where can I find them?
Thanks,

Ravi,
All my original drivers that came with my T60 are located here:
C:\swtools\drivers
Subsequent driver installations are stored here (note: a bit painful to find which are video related, but doable):
C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\session
Method for uninstalling/installing ATI drivers here:

Hi!
I'm wondering (T60 2007QPG / ATI X1400 / WinXP):
+ if I turn off video acceleration ("Display properties / Advanced / Troubleshoot / Hardware acceleration"), then MS Word draws vector images smooth and fast as it should be.
+ if I turn on acceleration, then MS Word draws vector images and schemes (filled by color gradient) slow with frequent flickers?
What is it? Should I replace my video adapter in service center?
The slowing down is also realized in MS PowerPoint and MS Visio (with acceleration on).
(Current driver is Catalist 2008.0103.1233.22319)
Update (10/26/2008):
The problem seems to be resolved after installing Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Office 2003 (which helps open files in Office 2007 format). Now all MS Office products draws vector images without multiple redraws and flickers. And there are no more black screens when editing vector images in MS Visio.

Nope, didn't work. I have this one MPG video on a CD that almost always results in the black screen of death when I play it. It still did it even after I rolled back my ATI drivers to the 11/2007 version.amag wrote:Referring to GoofyG28's post above, I actually had the same problem, particularly when watching movies. I think it's related to the ATI video drivers from January 2008- I rolled them back, and I haven't had a "black screen of death" since.
To roll back your drivers, on Windows XP Professional, go to Device Manager->Display Adapters->ATI Mobility.... Right click on the ATI card, go to "Properties", then go to the Driver tab. Just click roll back, and you're done.
I hard-rebooted, then turned off Power Play, and the video works. But then when I re-enabled Power Play, the video still works.

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
