Canadian prices (especially with VisaPerks, and even especially more with F&F discount) are cheaper than the US counterparts somehow (looking at the 16U model). However, I'd take the US' ability to customize their machines over the price difference any day (until a Canadian version comes along that fully suits my preference).Goran wrote:As I've said, it's normal for Europe (we Europeans always get screwed on price): on Lenovo's German site, T61 which costs 1765 CAD (Ontario taxes included, both Visa and current Canada day discounts which bring it down to 1595 CAD excluded) is listed at € 1957.55, which is approximatively 60% more than in Canada. Since T61p listed in Poland costs between € 2500-2800, I don't expect it to be nearly as much in Canada and even less in USA.sylvain wrote:The T61P look very expensive in Canadian $...maybe a T60P can do the job...
Also, they seem to have different hardware...the T61 seems to come with the Turbo caching technology with a HDD of 5400RPM and the T61P come with a 7200 RPM...
But a T61P will rock solide
If you have the money go for it
(Regarding Turbo cache, I will certainly not lose any sleep over it, and until the technology shows a significant advantage, I don't think anyone should.)
