T60p and Intel Turbo Memory

#1 Post by Oaklodge » Wed Jun 06, 2007 4:17 pm

Don't try this at home, I can confirm that plugging the Intel Turbo Memory card into a spare PCIe slot on my T60p does not work.

I plugged the card in, installed the Intel drivers and rebooted.
Installing New Hardware, I thought great, but my disk drive was now asigned to the Intel SATA driver that was just installed ... no other new hardware detected :(

The install noted do say that it required the latest Intel chipset which of course the T60p does not have ....

Uninstalled the driver software and the hardware, eveything is back to normal and still working ...

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait for some other PCIe memory device that is supported.

Without a BIOS update the T60/p will not support Turbo memory. I don't think Lenovo will be offering a BIOS update for this anyway.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

Without a chipset update, it won't work. And the chipset can only be changed by upgrading from T60 to T61 ...
