my t60 + logitech g5 + kvm + power-on password = problems :/

i have a power-on password on my t60, if i have my logitech g5 (2007) connected to any usb port be it directly on the laptop/the ones on the dock/on the belkin kvm or even a powered usb hub (connected to both the kvm and the laptop directly), i cant type anything on the keyboard at all at the password prompt.

if i unplug the g5, i can type a password in. anyone else have this sort of problem?
