Thinkpad T60 with Widescreen Monitor

I'm looking for some help on purchasing a widescreen monitor to use with my laptop docking station. I'd like to get a 22" widescreen LCD (which typically has a 1680 x 1050 native resolution), and I'm wondering if my laptop will be able to support that resolution or produce a good sharp image. I don't want to get a widescreen and just end up with a distorted/stretched image. I have a Thinkpad T60 (Windows XP) with an ATI Radeon Mobility 1300 video card. Any advice/info from someone who's done something similar would be appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

I have used my thinkpad with a 19" monitor at that resolution with no issues whatsoever (no streching etc).

I am currently running my T60 (fitted with a X1400) plugged into a Dell 20" Widescreen LCD, actually Dual Screen as I am also using my T60's screen at the same time

Did you have to upgrade your card to an X1400? Or was that standard?

Thanks!

It was a standard fit.
