Is Intel Turbo Memory Standard for all T61?
Is Intel Turbo Memory Standard for all T61?
hello, just wondering if the Intel Turbo Memory for quick access is standard for all t61 or is it an option?
also, how is it? is boot up speed, etc noticeably faster?
thanks!

It fits inside the mini-PCI slot. The other choice for the slot is the WWAN card. So, you can choose either WWAN or Intel Turbo Memory.
Next generation motherboards, Intel asserts, will come standard with Intel Turbo Memory.
At this time, I am unaware of any independent reviewer who has shown that the Intel Turbo Memory performs as Intel has advertised.
According to Intel, the Intel Turbo Memory should speed up the apparent speed of hard drive access and should speed up apparent speed of boot up.
It words with Vista.
Perhaps it will work better once the BIOS and Vista and Intel Turbo Memory drivers work better. Perhaps not.

Excellent analysis of the Robson module by Anandtech:

Conclusion: Under certain circumstances and usage patterns, Turbo memory can increase read speeds and provide some extra battery life. Overall, pretty mediocre, in my opinion.
