T60 heat comparisons with T43

If I were to update my T43 with a T60/61 what should I expect in terms of heat/fan noise?

The T43 fan cranks up very quickly after startup and annoys the hell out of me after about an hour so ideally I'd like a machine with ether a quieter fan or one that generates less heat altogether. How does the T5600 and T7200 chipset compare heat-wise? This assuming a Radeon discrete GPU.

I have my eye on some high-end T60 14" models (2623) that are just below the p versions. A couple use the T7200 chipset but most have T5600.

Hi,

I think a lot of people care about noise and temp. It was the same for me...

You can read both :

I also plan to replace a T4x (T41p) and finaly order a T60p. All T60 with dedicated graphics get hot. GPU goes at 65°c at idle. But for my own, I can't deal with any intel integrated.

You can use TP Fan Control to drive the fan. I do a profile for my T41p and fan only runs while heavy work or gaming.

PS : T61 got a new fan with new blade : http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=44604

Thanks for the links... I was hoping the T60 would run coller than the T43 but it seems I'll have to instead wait for a T61 with a 4:3 14" SXGA screen, if one ever appears.
