My T60 is similar to yours and the fan runs constantly (after inital warm-up) and at different speeds, but quietly.

They better start hiring more employers then. ive been fighting fan speed and heat since i got my t60p long time ago. Im at the point where i just whish it to melt down so i can get something else. (dell 420, 1.2kg, 7 hours on batteri, widescreen 12.1 inch with 1280x res, good quality and half price)

its actually funny, the more ive been fighting this heat and fan crap the less effectiv it has become. i just disabled NHC and are monitoring the cpu with tpfancontrol and the cpu temp is 71 in idle mode and going up.

it didnt use to be this bad but atleast it has become exciting :flame:

Fan rotation depends on CPU power and GPU power. With discret graphics that genered more heat, fan nearly spin all time. In past time, I got a Dell D600. After 10 minutes, fan gets on and never stops. Mine go Radeon Mobility M9 32 Mb. There were also a lot of people mad about the fan on Dell forum.
