T60 WWAN Upgrade?
T60 WWAN Upgrade?
Does anyone know whether I can install a WWAN upgrade in my T60? I've been on hold w/ Lenovo for 17m30sec so far, let's see if I can get the answer faster here.
Thanks,
Andy

Assuming that you are referring to an "embedded" solution, the answer is "Yes" (even if you get a different answer from Lenovo!).
However, there may be side effects, as follows: if your motherboard does not have the second Mini-PCI Express slot socket soldered onto the board, then you may need to remove the WLAN card in order to use its socket to install the WWAN card. You may also need to remove the LCD bezel and the palm rest in order to install the two WWAN antennas if your machine is missing those antennas.

Well Lenovo won the response-time contest by ten or fifteen minutes, but you win the accuracy prize for what looks like a correct answer compared to the "no" I got from them.EOMtp wrote:Assuming that you are referring to an "embedded" solution, the answer is "Yes" (even if you get a different answer from Lenovo!).
