Thanks so much for you input. If I didn't keep the flexview, I was going to reorder a T61 SXGA+ and get an LG or reorder again until I did. My only reference point is a Samsung, so if you like it better than the better LG I definately think I will stick with this thing even though it is a bit larger than I would like.

Wow, I just took some pictures with my Sony DSC T5 and compared with a few other LCDs. Good grief the Flexview colors are amazing! What a night and day difference.

I just returned from the Post Office and the results are in:

T60 15" Flexview w/ 120gb 5400.3 & optical: 5lbs 12.8 oz (5.8 lbs)

T60 15.4" WSXGA+ w/ 120gb 7200.2 & optical: 5lbs 13.9 oz (5.869)

chadwicktr: I've had a ton of 14" T4x's & T60's so this 15" also feels a bit big to me but the screen seems worth it. also, now that I've switched from a courier style bag to a Tumi backpack I barely notice the weight on trips.

I recently got a T60 with 14" SXGA+ and was able to compare it side by side with my T42 15" SXGA+ Flexview.

Brightness: The 14" DOES seem brighter when looked at straight on (i.e white is whiter). Only slightly, but noticeably. But if you look slightly from below, the 14" darkens fast. Look from above and it washes out.

Contrast: The Flexview wins hands down - the black is black. On the 14" it's dark gray if you're lucky, bright gray otherwise.

Colors: As with most TN panels, the 14" has a serious blue shift.

Viewing angles: Everybody already knows it, nothing to say here.

Sparkle/Graininess - The Flexview screen IS noticeably more grainy. But it's not anything that bothers you during normal work, and you only notice it if you compare the screens side by side. However, it's a fact that the effect is present. It might be better or worse, depending on the exact panel or model. I wa never troubled by it, and all the artifacts inherent to the TN panel (14") are a bigger drawback than the graininess of the Flexview.

The first LG FlexView I saw two years ago was so grainy/sparkeled that it was unusable. fortunately, the LG FlexView I received a few days ago has a slight amount of sparkle but it's very mild (about the same as my LG 15.4" WSXGA+ panel).

I've noticed that the FlexView sometimes would exhibit a pinkish tint under certain conditions, as can be observed in this picture.
I've noticed the same phenomenon on my T60 Flex also.
