Ultranav and keyboard does not work

Something really strange is going on.

When I first got my T60p it worked like a charm, I installed Ubuntu and it still was great.

But now when I boot into Win Xp Pro my keyboard and ultranav (track point and touch pad) will not respond.

But get this, the thinkadvantage button works, and even the "Fn" button works in conjunction with the "Fn" buttons. (i.e. I can make the screen brighter and darker)

Another funny thing is that everything works when I am booted in Ubuntu (fiesty).

Just now i rebooted for the 3rd time and I thought it was just some software glitch in windows because my touchpad was working during the login screen...but then the win desktop showed up and it wasn't working anymore ...

also, SOMETIMES the keyboard works in windows so i can sorta navigate through things. i try to activate the touchpad and trackpoint through thinkpad config and it tells me that the trackpoint is disabled in the BIOS. I checked and its in automatic.

I have not yet opened the palm rest to see if the cable is where its supposed to be because everything works find in Ubuntu...so I think its somesort of software problem with windows... any ideas?

my system is a T60p w/ flexview, dual booting winxp pro and ubuntu fiesty, and the latest bios.

well I am not too sure what fixed it but this is what i did.
I removed the palmrest, unplugged and plugged back in the touchpad connection.

at this point the touchpad was working, but very sluggish, for some reason it wasn't in the right mode. trackpoint was not working at this point. and said it was disabled.

then i installed the latest ultrnav software utitlity program. restarted the notebook and now everything seems to work fine. but I am unable to move the mouse until windows is fully loaded...
