Sorry if this have been asked before, but I can't find it.

I just did a clean installation of Vista Business on my new T61. But I am having some problem with Thinkvantage System Update. Doesn't matter which update I choose, it will download with no problem, but in the end it will just display a message "x Packages did not install". I even reinstalled Vista a second time to make sure there wasn't any software conflict issues, but still the same problem.

Anyone know how to fix this. Thanks

If you're talking about a T61, that's the problem about Nvidia Quadro card.

When you're downloading updates from lenovo, you must had your internet connection on. So by default setting your windows update is also in updating progress. The problem you have is because, windows update had installed drivers for Nvidia Quadro prior to lenovo system update program.

Even if you try to install the Nvidia driver from lenovo manually, it won't let you because its actually the same version as windows update provides. The only way is to uninstall the driver, and then install the lenovo one again.

At least that's the problem I had yesterday....

I didn't install Nvidia driver using System Update, I just downloaded and installed manually.

I am having trouble installing every update provided on System Update, none of them would install (they all downloaed okay). I can download those update from the lenovo website and install manually without any problem. But I would like to know why System Update can't install them

If you haven't, try restarting. I noticed that, regardless of what updates were available, if there were Critical Updates it would _only_ update them, and would refuse to update the rest until I restarted.

That is not the problem. I haven't gotten a single update to install successfully, critical or not. Restarting or even uninstall/reinstall System Update won't even fix it.

Is the account you're attempting to update under an administrative account?

You have to install Lenovo Interface Driver for the System update to work properly.
