Widescreen 15 inch T61 here, does yours make weird noises?

Every once it a while it sounds like a marble is being dropped inside my laptop. Weird I know, but that is the best way I can put it.
I will try and record it, but it occurs so randomly.

Sure
You have a Seagate 7200 RPM drive i presume?
The dropping marble sound is coming from the drive due to the R/W heads doing a sudden random parking due to a firmware bug/fault and thus hits a "wall" or something.
I really hope Seagate will correct this issue very soon. It was also a issue with T60s

i can deal with it, even tho i do not want to.
i'm just glad i don't risk loosing my data.
Yet Seagate still does nothing.
