Intel Withdraws TurboMemory from Desktops

#1 Post by SLoweCSL » Thu Jun 28, 2007 3:11 pm

The article at Digitimes, http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20070628PD212.html ,
states that Intel is dropping plans for moving the Turbo Memory technology (Robson) to desktops as the 1.0 bios version and drivers are not meeting performance expectations. They are going to launch 1.5 version at the end of the year or first of next.

Where does that leave those of us with the current version in our shiny new T61s?

Will the current version be upgradable via a Thinkpad bios upgrade?
System: T61 7664-17U - T7300(2GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in LCD, 128MB nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, Intel Turbo Memory, 6c Li-Ion, Vista Ultimate 32bit
