If I were you, I would spend a couple hundred dollars more for T7600, Wifi Draft N.

I am using a T61 with wifi N, and the reception is really great.

I also would prefer a brand new machine than a remanufactured one (its just personal experience).

I know that some European countries charge substantial custom tax, but I am not sure about Holland. You may ask the seller to send it as a gift with a lower declared value to reduce the tax.

Deo:

With respect to experiences from users who have actually traded with ThinkpadWorld, I would suggest you do a search in this forum - simply search for "ThinkpadWorld", and read all what comes up! Also, this thread might be of particular interest (see the last entry). Actually, I recently bought that particular T42p from user noetus - and I am quite pleased with it!

Note the small print in the eBay ad, saying: "Six Months IBM Global Financing Warranty plus 3 Year Mack Computer International Extended Warranty". In other words, you only get 6 months of IBM warranty (will it cover a repair taking place in the Netherlands? Check yourself!), and beyond that you get 3 years of service provided by the New Your-based company Mack, meaning that you will need to ship your laptop to USA for repair (and probably having to pay for its shipment both forth and back).

Consider buying in Europe - read here why!

Regards,

Johan

Mack warranty is next to useless. No, I take it back, Mack warranty is worse than useless.

That's pretty bloody expensive. In Canada you can get it for like $1500USD. Gotta have Lenovo for ripping people off.

Make sure you check your Machine type on the IWS site to make sure you can get service.

Johan:

Thanks alot for reminding me, well I've also checked on Cnet recommended webshops like: Buy.com. NEWEGG.COM.. unfortunetly none of those webshops would ship to outside USA.

My budget is around 1600euros with the specs that I mentioned earlier (incl shipping if it's shipped from USA), what's your recommendations? Johan...

called Dutch custom last friday and was told that only VAT 19% will be added to the value of declared good from outside EU.

Thanks and hear from you soon

I just added one entry to that thread, so the "last entry" Johan was referring to is now the second-to-last entry.
