I'm thinking about buying a T60 with a core2duo and selling my core duo T60.
The main thing that would make me do this is if the T60 w/ c2d has Santa Rosa. Is there a way to check if it does?
Its the 2623-KEU model.
Also on a side note what is the difference between the T60 / T61 / T60P?
T61 seems to be widescreen right?

Santa Rosa refers to the chipset, not the process--and no, the T60 uses the previous Napa motherboard. Right now, the T61 is the only model of the T6x series that features the SR technology.
Real Name: Andrew

Only the T61 has the Santa Rosa chipset.

For the T series ONLY:
Non-flexview:
All 14.1": XGA (1024x768), SXGA+ (1400x1050), 15" XGA (1024x768), All widescreens (both 14" and 15.4")
Flexview:
15" SXGA+ (1400x1050), UXGA (1600x1200), QXGA (2048x1536).
The QXGA screen is not available in the T series, only was avaliable as a special order for the R50p. The R-series after R51 does NOT feature a flexview screen, even if you ordered a 15" SXGA+.
So yeah, the 2623-KEU does not feature a flexview LCD. Also, check the sticky at this forum...there's much more info there
The T61 comes in widescreens only for the consumer. You can make a special order for 14" XGA and probably SXGA+ too later on if you're a larger business or organization. As it is now, you can not get discrete graphics to go with it.
Difference between T60/T60p:
T60: Graphics: GMA950, X1300, X1400
T60p: Graphics: FireGL V5200 in the CD and V5250 in the C2D T60p.
Core Duo:
T60: LCD: 14" XGA, SXGA, 15" XGA, SXGA+ (Flexview)
T60p: LCD: 14" SXGA, 15" SXGA+ (Flexview), UXGA (Flexview)
Core 2 Duo:
T60: LCD: 14" XGA, SXGA, 15" XGA, SXGA+ (Flexview), 15.4" WXGA, WSXGA+
T60p: LCD: 14" SXGA, 15" SXGA+ (Flexview), 15.4" WSXGA+
There were very FEW select models for the C2D with 15" UXGA flexview, but these seem like a special order only.
These are the main differences. You could also get fingerprint reader on the T60, but was always included on T60p. WWAN available on select models of either T60 or T60p.
With the T61 Lenovo changed tactics, and of the mind this is what i remember:
Changed to graphics by nVidia, the Quadro 140M, 128 MB dedicated, or integrated X3100.
Changed platform to Santa Rosa which includes:
- Robson / Intel Turbo Memory (Which Intel has cancelled now)
- Integrated graphics called X3100 which is used in some T61s.
LCD Roll cage
Introduction of a 14" Widescreen model (WXGA and WXGA+). T61 is not available in ANY 15" format and NEVER will be.
Some design changes - now the WWAN antenna is integrated in the lid completely
Webcam on select models
Media card reader on select models
New fan design
By the way, you might be able to just insert a C2D CPU in your current T60 to replace the the core duo.

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
