I dock my T60p at work for most of the time and with the lid closed I can't access the finger printer reader.

is there an external finger print reader I can purchase that will work the same as the built in one?

Thanks.

I don't have any experience with these devices so cannot comment on how it would/wouldnot work with the built in fingerprint reader.

I'm sure there are other solutions.

FYI, the second one is on sale at a IBM parter here for about USD25.00
PM me if you are interested. I'll get it for you.

whatever the device, it would have to work with the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software.

That way I can use the same software and registered finger prints.

Actually I have one of those Lenovo keyboards with the built in fingerprint reader that works extremely well.
