Does anyone know. Can the IR port on the front of a T60p be used with a IR remote control for Windows Media Center?

You're probably better off with a Bluetooth remote for better range. Are you dead set on infrared?
This is a nifty looking product. Seems perfect for a T60 since it has an express card slot for recharging/storage of the remote. This particular unit has a 30 foot range. I may get one just for the 'coolness' factor

I don't know if there are any available that don't protrude. The way I look at it is that it is only 'in' the express slot to charge once in a while, so it's not a big deal. Here is that unit for $40 US at Amazon.

Basically, I would guess not. However, see the following thread.

EDIT: If you want something that doesn't protrude, then bluetooth is the only way to go, since you already have bluetooth on your T60. Bluetooth devices tend to be a little expensive though.
