I had a bad flash on my t60...

after doing a windows version of the bios flash on my t-60 type 2007, the flash looked good in windows (no errors), then it rebooted but forgot i had a password on the computer and it just hung on the lenovo screen. now it wont even bootup. just get a black screen.

Is there any way to fix this?

the windows flash procedure checks for errors before it ends. if you didn't reboot while the prog was flashing, it should be OK.

try clearing the capacitors by taking out the battery, disconnect the power plug, and pressing the power button for 20 secs.

well i sent it to "laptoprescuer" on ebay. They say they will try to replace the bios. unsolder the old one, and resolder a new one, and reflash it. I hope it works.

i might have been willing to try it myself if i had known the location of it, what chip to use etc. That might be something you guys want to add to your website for info in the future.

Still though if it does work it will be a lot cheaper than sending to IBM. They wanted about 800 to replace the motherboard.

Dont send it to laptoprescuer. Send it to lenovo for warranty service. Similar thing happened to my machine.. bios crashed during the update. got a new board installed for free.

Since the laptop is so new, it should still be under warranty.

Why would you send it to someone other than Lenovo to fix it?
