Problem with wireless

I have a T60 and am experiencing problems in Windows XP and Linux with the wireless. It will connect at times, and other times, from the exact same location, can not locate any wireless network. Any ideas what is going on? I have made no changes or installed any drivers/programs lately and the problem just started occurring a few days ago. Also, I will be connected and then just randomly dropped from the network. This could be a router issue, but I have no problems with any other devices on the network. Can someone explain some steps I can take to try and troubleshoot this?

Since you have the same problem with both Windows and Linux, that pretty much rules out a software problem. Are you able to test with another wireless network? Have you tried rebooting your router?

will be able to test the campus network on wed. I have tried rebooting the router and power cycling it as well with no luck. What has me stumped is why it can see all the networks in my area sometimes and sometimes does not find anything. I am installing all system updates right now to see if that helps anything.

Sounds familiar. Corruption at the Jersey Shore

How to recover from Winsock2 Corruption

EDIT: On further reflection, I believe tomh009 is correct. Sounds more like a hardware problem since it is occurring in both OS's.
