I just got my first Thinkpad (t60p, 7200, 2GB RAM, ATI V5250, Vista Ultimate, Atheros g/n wireless) and enjoying it greatly with a few exeptions....

The wireless card will stay connected to my Linksys 54G router for about 4-6 minutes of general browsing and then kicks me off and gives me the "limited or no connection" yellow triangle, I then have to disconnect from the router and re-connect and then, everythings fine for the next 4-6 minutes, but, if I connect to my MLB.TV account to watch my beloved Dodgers, the connection is just fine and I can stay connected to watch the ball game from first pitch to last out with no drops along the way... I have downloaded all the latest patches and still no go with general browsing.
(I am not using the Lenovo connection manager to manage the wireless card if that makes a difference)

Also I have 74 process running according to my task manager and I would like to get rid of all the Lenovo garbage that comes pre-loaded on the laptop, but I dont know what I can safely get rid of without screwing anything up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds a lot like what is described below.

I just looked at the "fix" and it was already defaulted to the solution..... any more thoughts??

I am going to hop on another AP to see if i experience the same drop cycle, I will post back.

I was at a hotel last night that had wireless access so I got right on and stayed on with no drop outs during my stay.
I will have to play around with the Linksys tonight when I get home and drop my MTU on the router to see if that was indeed my problem!

So about my excessive processes that the T60p is running, 73 as of last night and I have not even loaded Office 2K7 yet, is there anything I can safely delete/stop services on that will drop my processes without killing the thinkpad?

Update the firmware on your router.
