t61 clean install experts: missing drivers?

#1 Post by kreigerm » Tue Jul 03, 2007 7:37 am

So I have Vista 64-bit working fine on my Thinkpad T61 after a clean install. (7662-cto)

(although I had a major problem yesterday where a safeboot stopped on crcdisk.sys and the only way to solve it was to change SATA to compatible mode - probably because of some driver but otherwise it is working well)

I have 2 items that still are still listed as not having drivers but I can't for the life of my think of what they could be for. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate.

I'm not sure what you might need to tell which it is but the location is listed as:
"Base System Device" "PCI bus 21, device 0, function 3"
"Base System Device" "PCI bus 21, device 0, function 4"

I'd also be interested in issues around a clean install - but of xp. My "out of box" experience is that the t61 is SLOWER than my old t20. This is most disappointing.

I believe that may be the Firewire, but I'm not entirely sure. It is listed as:
PCI bus 21, device 0, function 1
This should install out of the box...

It may also be the Ricoh driver (Card Reader, SmartCard [32-bit, 64-bit])

You need the Ricoh 4-in-1 card reader driver from

Actually I needed to install this:

to get the drivers to work, but you pointed me in the right direction.
