T60 adding WWAN after purchase...

I have added the two antennas for the WWAN and the Sierra MC5720 card to my T60 allowing me integrated WWAN capability.

Everything works and connects properly to the Verizon's network.

All I need know is a new T60 clear plate with the WWAN symbol on it.

If anyone knows where I might find one please let me know. This would complete my WWAN integration into my T60.

I will be happy to share my experiences with others if they are interested in knowing how this was done.

He said he added the two antennas, which doesn't make since to me. I'm pretty [censored] sure there's only one WWAN antenna and that it goes on the right side of the display towards the bottom. On the 14.1" models it sticks out some. This same spot is also used to house the third antenna used by the 802.11n cards.

There are two WWAN antennas: the primary one is on the right side of the LCD case; the secondary one is under the back left corner of the keyboard bezel.

As the following image shows, there are (2) antenna connectors on the Sierra Wireless MC-5720

Two antennas are required; one under the back left of the keyboard bezel and the other on the right side of the LCD. These were simple adds in both cases.

I ordered the card and installed it in the empty PCI-E connector.

Three screws are needed to connect the addtional hardware, two for the back of the Sierra card and one for the antenna that goes under the keyboard bezel.

The antenna on the LCD uses the screws that were originally holding the antenna blank out piece. I removed the blank out and installed the LCD antenna and secured it with the original screws.

I found the T60 LCD sticker yesterday at ACSoutlet and it arrived today.

I connect using access connections; downloaded the latest version from Lenovo.com.

In terms of activation, I was using the PCMCIA card before and have an account with Verizon. I simply called them and gave them my new ESN number from the integrated card and they made the switch.

I navigated to the WWAN option under tools and activate the device. The device took a few minutes to update and began working soon after the programming completed.

If anyone would like the part numbers and know-how to integrate WWAN into your T60 I will be happy to help.

For those doubters out there; I did this, I know it works and there are two antennas for the WWAN in my T60.

Cheers!

I would be interested in the details. I have a T60 and would like to add an internal wwan rather than always popping in the wireless card. Thanks.
